Alden W. Clausen

Alden Winship Clausen (born February 17, 1923 in Hamilton , Illinois , † January 21, 2013 in Burlingame , California ) was President of the World Bank from July 1981 to June 1986 .

Before (1970–1981) and thereafter (1986–1990) Clausen was President of Bank of America . Under his leadership, the world's largest commercial bank expanded in the 1970s. He expanded the business relationship with Latin America and in 1986, by streamlining the company's management, prevented the bank from being sold.
