Aldo Chaparro
Aldo Chaparro (born December 18, 1965 in Lima , Peru ) is a Mexican sculptor .
Life
Chaparro graduated from the Papal Catholic University of Peru in Lima and worked in the studio of the Peruvian artist Hernán Pazos during this time . In 1991 he was offered a position at the private, Catholic Universidad de Monterrey in San Pedro Garza García in the urban region of Monterrey in the Mexican state of Nuevo León .
He is known for his sheet steel sculptures. These are partially painted in color and are crumpled up by the artist with his own hands.
From 2000 to 2012, Chaparro was head of the Celeste publishing group , which published more than 40 publications on contemporary art and fashion during this time.
Chaparro is now a Mexican citizen and lives in Mexico City .
