Alec Lovelace
Alec Lovelace (* 1907 ; † 1981 ) was a British colonial politician , colonel , administrator of Antigua and Barbuda and the last administrator of Dominica .
biography
1954 Lovelace succeeded Richard St. John Ormerod Wayne Administrator of Antigua and Barbuda and held this office until October 3, 1958. In this office he contributed to the development of the islands, for example by signing an agreement on remittances in July 1956 Canada signed.
After that was done in 1959 with the rank of colonel ( Colonel ) his appointment as Administrator of Dominica . As such, he was the last incumbent until March 1967, when Geoffrey Colin Guy was appointed the first governor of Dominica. During his tenure, together with the first chief minister of Dominica, Franklin A. Baron , and his wife in 1960, he designed Dominica's coat of arms .
