Ian Graham Turbott

Sir Ian Graham Turbott CMG , CVO (born March 9, 1922 in Whangarei - † August 11, 2016 ) was a British colonial politician , former administrator of Antigua and Barbuda and governor of Grenada .

biography

Turbott was initially from October 3, 1958 to March 6, 1964 as the successor to Alec Lovelace Administrator of Antigua and Barbuda .

He then became first administrator and then from 1967 to 1968 Governor of Grenada . At the same time he was beaten by Queen Elizabeth II to the Knight Bachelor .

In 1989 he was founding chancellor of the University of Western Sydney (UWS). Since February 6, 1995 he has been Honorary Consul of the Cook Islands in Sydney .

During his lifetime he was awarded the Order of St. Michael and St. George (CMG) in 1962 , the Royal Victorian Order (CVO) in 1966 and the Order of Australia (AO) in 1997 .
