Alec Olney
Henry Alexander "Alec" Olney (born January 4, 1922 in the Metropolitan Borough of Hampstead , † April 25, 2017 in the London Borough of Harrow ) was a British long-distance runner .
Over 5000 m he was eliminated from the 1948 Olympic Games in London in the preliminary run and was eighth at the European Athletics Championships in Brussels in 1950 .
He was English runner-up over three miles three times : in 1947 behind the Dutchman Jef Lataster , in 1948 behind the Dutchman Willem Slijkhuis and in 1950 with his personal best of 14: 11.2 minutes behind the Belgian Lucien Theys .
