Alec Laurentius Smit (born May 15, 1999 in Sittard ) is a Dutch handball player . He is currently under contract with SønderjyskE Håndbold .

Career

Smit played in the Netherlands for the first division club OCI-Lions . In the 2015/16 season he took part with the Lions in the qualifying tournament for the EHF Champions League . After missing qualification, Smit played with the Lions in the EHF Cup this season . In the 2016/17 season he played again with the Lions in the EHF Cup and became Dutch champion and Supercup winner. For the 2017/18 season , Smit moved to the German second division club HSG Nordhorn-Lingen . In 2019 he rose to the Bundesliga with Nordhorn. In December 2019 he moved to the Danish first division club SønderjyskE Håndbold .

Smit games for the Dutch youth, junior and has A -Nationalmannschaften denied.

Smit plays in the position of right winger .
