Alecos Papadatos (born 1959 in Thessaloniki ) is a Greek draftsman.

Life

Alecos Papadatos studied economics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and then marketing at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne . In France he also trained in animation and cartoon, where he found employment as an animation artist in the advertising industry.

He was also involved in the independent filmmaking scene in Paris. In 1988 he received an award in Drama (Greece) for animation in a cartoon on the subject of The Cricket and the Ant . He was subsequently invited to the 1990 Berlin Film Festival .

Since 1991 he has lived and worked in Athens with Annie Di Donna in his own company and produces for the Greek, but also for the European market. His cartoons also appeared in the daily To Vima . Papadatos also designs book covers.

Between 2003 and 2008 he worked with the author Apostolos Doxiadis , the computer scientist Christos Papadimitriou and the designer Annie Di Donna on the graphic novel Logicomix about the philosophy of Bertrand Russell , which was written in English.

With Abraham Kawa and Di Donna he produced the graphic novel Democracy , which was initially published in English in 2015.
