Alejandro Hohberg , full name Alejandro Hohberg González , (born September 20, 1991 in Lima ) is a Peruvian - Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.69 meter tall midfielder Hohberg is the grandson of the Uruguayan national soccer player and World Cup participant from 1954, Juan Hohberg . In Peru he played football in the Academia "Tito Drago" until he was 8 years old. Then he moved with the family to Uruguay. At the beginning of his career, Hohberg was a member of the reserve team (Formativas) of Club Atlético Peñarol from mid-2007 to the end of 2011 . In the last days of December 2011 he moved to Club Atlético Rentistas , for which he played eight games in the Primera División in the 2012 Clausura . Since February 2013 the Club Atlético Torque has been his employer. With the Montevideans he ran in nine encounters of the Segunda Division . As with the previous station, he did not manage to score a personal goal. In early 2014, he joined FBC Melgar . With the Peruvians he was used 13 times (two goals) in the Primera División and nine times (one goal) in the Copa Inca . Universidad San Martín signed him up for 2015 . At the Lima club, he played 26 first division games and scored five goals. He also scored four times in twelve appearances in the Copa Inca. From January 2016 he continued his career at Universidad César Vallejo . There he has ten goals in 31 top division games and two appearances (one goal) in the Copa Libertadores 2016 . At the beginning of January 2017, he started working for Alianza Lima . So far (as of July 26, 2017) he has played 20 league games (three goals) and two matches (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2017 for the Peruvian capital club .

National team

In 2011, the then coach of the Peruvian U-20 national team, the former Uruguayan national coach Gustavo Ferrín made first attempts to win Hohberg for the national team of the Andean country. Although Hohberg expressed interest, there was ultimately no appeal. The leaders of the Uruguayan national teams, however, showed no efforts to fall back on his services.

Meanwhile, Hohberg is a member of the Peruvian national team . He made his international debut on May 24, 2016 against the selection of Trinidad & Tobago. He was part of the squad that took part in the 2016 Copa América . As part of the tournament, he played the games against Haiti (June 5, 2016) and Ecuador (June 9, 2016). So far (as of April 9, 2017) he has been used in at least three international matches. He cannot show a personal goal.
