Alejandro Leyva (born May 14, 1980 in Orizaba , Veracruz ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of a striker .

career

Leyva began his professional career at Monarcas Morelia , for which he first came on September 22, 2001 in a game of the Mexican Primera División at Deportivo Toluca (1: 3). His first goal in the top Mexican division succeeded Leyva on May 8, 2004 for an early 1-0 lead at the Jaguares de Chiapas , but the game was ultimately lost 2-1.

Because Leyva could not assert himself permanently at the Monarcas, he played on loan for various second division clubs as well as the first division club Tiburones Rojos Veracruz , who later acquired him and in turn awarded him several times.
