Lagartos de Tabasco is a former football club from Villahermosa , the capital of the Mexican state of Tabasco .

The Lagartos ( Spanish term for lizards in general and here for the order of the crocodiles in particular) were, with a membership of three and a half years, the association from the state of Tabasco that had been represented in the Primera División 'A' longest , after which the Caimanes (Spanish. Term for caimans , which also belong to the crocodile family) had finished the opening season 1994/95 in last place and were the first athletic relegated from this league and the Guerreros , who later represented in the league, left after only one half season (Apertura 2006) withdrew from the league.

The Lagartos acquired the second division license from Albinegros de Orizaba in January 2003 and reached the Liguillas in their first three seasons , but always failed in the quarterfinals : first in Torneo Verano 2003 against Club León (2: 1 and 0: 3) and then in the Apertura 2003 against the Cobras Ciudad Juárez (2: 1 and 1: 4) and in the Clausura 2004 against the Club Morelos (2: 3 and 0: 1).

In the four following tournaments in the 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons, the Lagartos were always eliminated in the preliminary round and finally lost their second division place in the summer of 2006 after the Tiburones Rojos Veracruz had acquired their license to henceforth with their branch team Tiburones Rojos Coatzacoalcos in to be represented in the league.
