Aleksander "Olek" Kowalski (born July 20, 1930 in Zakopane , † February 7, 2009 in Kościelisko ) was a Polish skier who competed for Wisła-Gwardia Zakopane . He was twice Polish champion in Nordic combined and in 1953 in ski jumping .

Career

Kowalski won the Czech Marusarzówna Memorial Competition of the Nordic Combined in 1952 and 1957 and was also able to attract attention in 1954 and 1956 with second place. Kowalski was a participant in the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy . He finished fifteenth in the Nordic Combined competition. After jumping he was still fifth, but with a poor mileage he lost a few places.

Kowalski was able to achieve his greatest successes at the national championships. In 1956 and 1957 he was Polish champion in Nordic combined. In 1953 he was also able to win the championship title in ski jumping ahead of Antoni Wieczorek and Jan Kula .
