NGC 7494 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E1 in the constellation Aquarius on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 359 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 7498 .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on September 24, 1864 .
