NGC 7497 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Pegasus in the northern sky . It is an estimated 84 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on October 15, 1784 by the astronomer William Herschel with a 48 cm telescope.
