NGC 7491 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Aquarius on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 283 million light years from the Milky Way and about 80,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Edouard Stephan on August 21, 1881 .
