Alemannia Zähringen is a sports club from Freiburg im Breisgau . The club offers badminton , boules , soccer , handball , coronary sports , tennis , gymnastics , gymnastics and volleyball . The footballers of the club played one season in the 1st Amateur League South Baden in 1972/73 .
History and successes
Alemannia Freiburg
On May 12, 1910, members of the Bavaria Freiburg Association founded the Freiburg FC Alemannia. Between March 24, 1923 and September 3, 1923 there was a merger with SpVgg Freiburg under the name SpVgg Alemannia Freiburg. Under pressure from the occupying powers , Freiburg's FC Alemannia was dissolved on September 16, 1946. Together with former members of FC Sportfreunde Freiburg , FC Sportfreunde Betzenhausen was founded as a successor. Three years later, Betzenhausen split again into Freiburg FC Alemannia and FC Sportfreunde Freiburg.
FC 1910 Zähringen
FC Nordstern Zähringen was founded in 1910. In the same year the club was renamed FC 1910 Zähringen.
TSV Zähringen
TSV Zähringen was founded on September 2, 1900 and dissolved in 1945. On December 4, 1947, together with members of FC 1910 Zähringen, VfR Zähringen was established as the successor club. The renaming to TSV Zähringen dates back to January 21, 1950.
Alemannia Zähringen
Freiburg FC Alemannia merged on July 15, 1967 with TSV Zähringen to form Alemannia Zähringen.
Success in football
Alemannia Freiburg always played at the district level. The TSV Zähringen belonged to the 2nd Amateur League South Baden from 1957 to 1960. Alemannia Zähringen started in the A-Class Freiburg in 1967. As their champions, the club rose in the second season in 1969 to the 2nd Amateur League South Baden. Three years later, in 1972, he was promoted to the 1st Amateur League South Baden. The guest appearance there lasted only one season. He was followed by two relegations in a row, with which the club was back in the divisions of the Freiburg district, which he has not left since. He currently plays in the district league B.
