Alex Dreppec (* 1968 in Jugenheim ) is a German writer .

life and work

Dreppec studied psychology in Darmstadt and Frankfurt am Main . He did his doctorate with a thesis on the understanding and comprehensibility of scientific texts (under his real name Alexander Deppert). 2000–2007 he took part in poetry slams , in 2002 he was a finalist in the German-language championships in Bern. From 2002 to 2011 he was the moderator of the Darmstadt Poets' Battle. In 2004 he was awarded the Wilhelm Busch Prize . Dreppec published poetry, essays and short prose in numerous anthologies (including 2008 in "The Great Conrady. The Book of German Poems. From the Beginnings to the Present", " Hell and Schnell ") and magazines (including in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , Exot , Der Literat, Das Gedicht. A magazine for poetry, essay and criticism , My secret eye , Freiberg reading books , besides , distance runner ) in German, Polish and increasingly also in English (e.g. "Transoceanic Twitter "in" English Journal. National Council of Teachers of English ", Vol. 103, No. 4, March 2014). He is the inventor of the Science Slam , which first took place in Darmstadt at the end of 2006 - a combination of his activities as a poetry slammer and comprehensibility researcher.

Private

Alex Dreppec is the son of Fritz Deppert and the grandson of Karl Deppert . Dreppec lives in Darmstadt.
