Fritz Deppert
Fritz Deppert (born December 24, 1932 in Darmstadt ) is a German writer.
Live and act
He studied German language and literature, history, art history and philosophy and received his doctorate. phil. about the dramas of Ernst Barlach . As a juror and editor of the Literary March since 1979, at that time with Karl Krolow and Wolfgang Weyrauch , he is also co-editor of the book series “Lyrik der Zeit”, in which the results of the Literary March are published every two years. He is a member of PEN (1993–1998 on the board), the Association of German Writers (VS) and Honorary President of the Kogge . From 1974 to 1996 he was the director of the Bertolt Brecht School , an upper-level high school he founded in Darmstadt. From 1997 to 2002 he held a teaching position for creative writing at the TU Darmstadt .
He has published translations of poetry into English, French, Galician, Ivrit, Japanese, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Czech and Hungarian.
Private
Fritz Deppert is the son of Karl Deppert . He is married and has two sons. One of them is artistically active as Alex Dreppec . They live together in Darmstadt. Fritz Deppert's wife Gabriella died on September 9, 2016.
