Alex Hürzeler (born June 1, 1965 ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP ) and has been a member of the canton of Aargau since April 1, 2009 .

Hürzeler was a local councilor from 1994 to 2009 and from 1995 he was also the mayor of his community in Oeschgen . From 1997 to 2009, Hürzeler was a member of the Grand Council . From 2001 to 2005 he presided over the State Accounts Commission. In 2004 he ran for the SVP together with Ernst Hasler in the government council election . He was also the official candidate of his party in the government council elections in 2008 and made it into the government council in the second ballot. He has been a member of the government since April 1, 2009 and heads the Department of Education, Culture and Sport.

Hürzeler attended primary school in Oeschgen and the district school in Frick , completed training as a commercial clerk and further training as a trustee with a federal certificate. Qualification.

Hürzeler completed his commercial apprenticeship followed by professional practice at a bank. After years of training at an auditing and trust company, he was an independent mandate manager and board member of a trust company until his election to the government council.
