Stephan Attiger (born March 3, 1967 ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ). He's since 2013 Councilor of the Canton of Aargau .

education and profession

Attiger first completed an apprenticeship as a construction worker, then completed training and further education as a business graduate. Between 1990 and 1993 he attended various schools in business administration and administration before he obtained a federal degree in marketing in 1994. From 1999 to 2002 he studied management at the University of Zurich . From 2002 to 2006 Attiger was managing director of KTM-RACING AG. Before that he worked at KTM FABAG and KTM Sportmotorcycle.

Political career

From 2002 Attiger was a city ​​councilor and member of the administrative boards of the city casino and the regional works. When he became mayor of Baden in 2006 , he was promoted to president of the regional works' administrative board. In March 2009 he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau. In the elections to the government council of the canton of Aargau on October 21, 2012, he stood as his party's candidate to succeed Peter C. Beyeler and was elected in the first ballot. He took office on April 1, 2013.

Private

Stephan Attiger is married and has a daughter and a son. He lives in Baden.
