Markus Dieth

Markus Dieth (born May 16, 1967 in Davos ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ) and member of the government of the canton of Aargau .

education and profession

Markus Dieth attended high school in Davos and graduated with a type B Matura. He then studied law at the University of Zurich and obtained a doctorate in law . Between 1988 and 1992 he worked for the Zurich Airport Police, from 1994 to 1999 he was a clerk at the Zurzach District Court and worked for Conrad + Höchli, a law firm in Baden . Dieth has been admitted to the bar in the canton of Aargau since 1996 and worked as a lawyer in Baden from 1999 until he took office as mayor of Wettingen.

Political career

Dieth was President of the CVP Wettingen from 1998 to 2001 and from 2001 to 2005 residents' council. In 2006 he was in the council of Wettingen chosen where he remained until 2016, the Office of the 2008 community Ammann exercised. In March 2009 he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau and on December 2, 2014 President of the Grand Council 2015. In the cantonal elections on October 23, 2016, Dieth was elected in the first round to succeed Roland Brogli in the government council. He took office on January 1, 2017.

Private

Markus Dieth is married and has two children. He lives in Wettingen.
