Alexander Robertson "Duke" Wellington (born August 4, 1891 in Madoc , Ontario , † September 20, 1967 in Burlington , New Jersey , USA ) was a Canadian ice hockey player , who during his active career between 1910 and 1921, among other things, a game for the Quebec Bulldogs in the National Hockey League on the position of right winger .

Career

Wellington first played from 1910 for numerous teams from the Port Arthur area , near his native Madoc in the Canadian province of Ontario . There he moved in the amateur field until 1915, before he went to the United States and played there for various teams in St. Paul , Pittsburgh and New York City .

On January 9, 1920 Wellington was finally signed by the Quebec Bulldogs , a franchise of the National Hockey League . He played a game for the team during the 1919/20 season . He then returned to Port Arthur and finally again to New York City to play there for his ex-teams before he declared his career over in 1921.

He died on September 20, 1967 in Burlington , New Jersey, USA, at the age of 76.
