Alexander Ødegaard (born September 13, 1980 in Voss ) is a former Norwegian football player .
Career
society
Ødegaard grew up in Førde and played there in his youth. He also played his first men's games here.
The 1.80 m tall striker moved to Sogndal IL in the 1st division in the summer of 1999 . In the 2000 season he rose to the Tippeligaen with Sogndal . He made his debut in Norway's top division on April 16, 2001 in the 3-0 away defeat by Odd Grenland . His first goal was the 1-0 in the 1: 4 defeat against Lillestrøm SK on April 29, 2001. Ødegaard played for Sogndal IL until the end of the 2004 season. Last season he scored 15 goals and won the Kniksenprisen to striker of the year. In the election he prevailed against Rosenborgs Frode Johnsen and Robbie Winters von Brann Bergen . Despite Ødegaard's goals, Sogndal rose after four years of Tippeligaen from bottom of the table.
Due to the success in the 2004 season, he was courted by the Tippeligaen clubs Rosenborg Trondheim and Brann Bergen . He decided on Rosenborg BK, the then reigning master and master for the past 13 years. The transfer fee was 10 million Norwegian kroner. Ødegaard made his debut for Rosenborg on Matchday 2 in the away game against FK Bodø / Glimt . He scored his first goal three game days later in his third game for Rosenborg. He scored to equalize 1-1 at Lillestrøm SK . Ødegaard completed 17 Tippeligaen games for Rosenborg in the 2005 season and scored four goals. He finished seventh in the table with Rosenborg.
Although Ødegaard had a three-year contract, he moved to Viking Stavanger for the new season . At seven million crowns, he was the most expensive player Viking had ever signed. In two seasons Ødegaard completed 42 Tippeligaen games and scored eight goals. From January 2011 to June 2012 he was under contract with the French second division club FC Metz . Then he went back to his hometown club Førde IL. Here he ended his active career after the 2015 season.
National team
In 2004, Alexander Ødegaard played four times for the Norwegian national football team . He scored his only goal on October 13, 2004 in the 2006 World Cup qualifier against Slovenia . He was substituted on in the 80th minute and made the 3-0 final score in the 90th minute.
