Alexander Alexandrowitsch Blinow ( Russian Александр Александрович Блинов ; born August 20, 1981 in Khabarovsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian sports shooter .

successes

Alexander Blinow, who competed in his first professional shooting competition in 1996 and started for Dinamo Khabarovsk, took part in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens in the competition on the running target over the 10-meter distance. With 578 points, he qualified fourth for the final, in which he achieved the best result of all eight finalists with 100 points. As a result, he moved up two places to silver behind Manfred Kurzer and ahead of his compatriot Dmitri Lykin . His total score was 678 points.

Alexander Blinow secured his first medals at world championships in Lahti in 2002 , when he won bronze in the mixed race on the running boar and silver on the running target in the team competition. Four years later he also took second place in the singles on the running target in Zagreb . In the team competition, he was meanwhile for the first time world champion, while he improved with the team in the mixed run on the running boar compared to 2002 to second place. In 2008 he took second place in this discipline in Pilsen , as well as in the team competition on the running boar in the regular run. In the mixed run on the running boar, he won his first and only gold medal in the individual. He also secured his third world title in the mixed team competition on the running target. Further team titles followed in Heinola in 2009 with gold medals in the competition on the running boar and on the running boar in the mixed run. Blinow successfully defended the mixed race title in Munich the following year, and in 2012 he finished third with the team in this discipline in Stockholm . In 2002 in Thessaloniki and 2009 in Prague Blinow was on the running target over the 10-meter distance European champion in the mixed team competition. In the individual competition he took second place in Thessaloniki in 2002, in Gothenburg in 2003 , in Győr in 2004 and in Osijek in 2019 .
