The production model, which costs 155,000 euros, has been produced in Chengdu , China , since autumn 2019 . The model is limited to 1500 copies, which are to be manufactured within three years.
A first preview of the coupé was presented at the 2013 International Motor Show in Frankfurt am Main with the Volvo Concept Coupé . At that time it was not planned to build such a model in series.
technology
Technically, the vehicle is based on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform introduced in the Volvo XC90 in 2014 . The coupé is powered by a two-liter gasoline engine with 227 kW (309 hp) in combination with a 50 kW (68 hp) starter generator on the front axle and two electric motors with a total of 171 kW (232 hp) on the rear axle. The plug-in hybrid drive, in combination with a 34 kWh battery, enables an electric range of up to 130 km according to the NEDC . The Polestar 1 should accelerate to 100 km / h in 4.2 seconds, and the manufacturer specifies a top speed of 250 km / h.
