Alexander Alexandrowitsch Kalyagin ( Russian Александр Александрович Калягин ; born May 25, 1942 in Malmysch , RSFSR , USSR ) is a Soviet or Russian actor and director for theater and film .

Life and accomplishments

Alexander Kaljagins father Alexander Iwanowitsch Kaljagin (1895-1942), who died shortly after the birth of his son, was dean of a faculty of history. His mother Julia Mironowna, b. Seidemann (1901–1972), taught French ; she spoke a total of five languages. Alexander was the couple's only child.

Although Kalyagin was interested in an artistic career as a child, he initially completed an apprenticeship as a nurse and worked in this profession for two years before training as an actor at the Boris Shchukin Theater Institute . Since graduating in 1965, he has worked on various stages, including a. at the Taganka Theater (1965–1967), the Chekhov Art Theater Moscow (1972–1987) and, since 1993, at Et cetera, which he directed . As a theater director, Kalyagin was staging in France, the USA and Turkey as early as the 1980s.

His film debut Kaljagin 1967 in the biopic Николай Бауман ( Nikalai Bauman ). Honors

In 1996 he was also elected chairman of the Union of Theater Workers of the Russian Federation (Russian: Союз театральных деятелей Рoccийской Фeдepaции).

The TASS praised Kaljagin in a contribution as "outstanding Russian actor and director."
