Alex Franconia

Alex Franken , actually: Alexander Franken (born October 7, 1847 in Düsseldorf , † October 4, 1896 in Jena ; full name: Franz Alexander Franken ) was a German legal scholar.

Life

Alex Franken studied at the University of Bonn , the University of Heidelberg and the University of Berlin . Following his studies, he worked as a lawyer in Cologne and obtained his doctorate in Berlin in 1874 with the treatise de principali interventione et oppositione tertii Gallici processus in Berlin. On July 6, 1875, he completed his habilitation at the University of Berlin as a private lecturer and in 1878 became an associate professor of law at the University of Greifswald . On October 1, 1881, he took up a full professorship in civil procedure law, German private, commercial and bill of exchange law at the University of Jena and was associated with the higher regional judge. In Jena he also took part in the organizational tasks of the university and was rector of the alma mater in the summer semester of 1886 . Franken, who had to struggle with health problems throughout his life, died of a mental illness.
