Albert Teichmann

Albert Fedor Reinhard Teichmann (born October 13, 1844 in Breslau , † December 29, 1912 in Basel ) was a German legal scholar .

Life

Albert Teichmann graduated from Maria-Magdalenen-Gymnasium in Breslau and studied law at the universities of Heidelberg , Leipzig and Berlin . In 1867 he received his doctorate in Berlin. In 1872 Teichmann became a court assessor . 1873 he was appointed University of Basel Extraordinary and 1877 full professor of criminal , state and church law . In 1884/85 he was rector of the university. In 1906 he retired.

He campaigned for the standardization of Swiss civil and criminal law.

In addition, Teichmann worked for Franz von Holtzendorff's legal dictionary , the Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie , for which he wrote about 140 articles between 1870 and 1905, mainly on scholars such as lawyers, philosophers and the like. a. and from Anton Bettelheim's Biographical Yearbook and German Nekrolog .

Teichmann was married to Fanny geb. Charcoal burner.
