Alexander Gagel

Alexander Gagel (born February 12, 1933 in Leipzig ; † May 10, 2019 ) was a German lawyer .

Life

Alexander Gagel 1953. a jurisprudential studies in Göttingen and Berlin, which he successfully completed the 1957th After working as an assistant at the Institute for Labor Law at the University of Heidelberg until 1958 , during which he received his doctorate there in 1963, he was employed in a law firm focused on labor law. From July 1963 to 1970 he was a judge at the Kassel Social Court . During this time he was seconded to the Federal Social Court (BSG) as a research assistant for a year . In 1970 he was appointed director of the Wiesbaden Social Court. This was followed in February 1974 by the appointment of judge at the BSG. At the BSG, he was assigned to the 7th Senate and thus dealt with the legal issues of employment promotion law . His other positions at the BSG were the 12th Senate, which was responsible for contribution disputes, and the 11th Senate, in which he again dealt with the legal problems of employment promotion law as deputy chairman from 1989. In January 1991 he took on a new task when he was now speaking in the 13th Senate responsible for pension law. At the same time he was appointed presiding judge. He retired on March 1, 1998.

In addition, Gagel published extensively on employment promotion law. The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg awarded Gagel an honorary doctorate in October 2010.
