Alexander Koke (born April 2, 1979 in Detmold ) is a former German handball player and handball trainer .

Club teams

Koke is mainly used in the middle back position; at the first division club TBV Lemgo he was active as a left wing . He then played from 2002 to June 2004 at MSG Melsungen / Böddiger , from July 2004 to June 2008 at TSV Bayer Dormagen and from July 2008 to November 2009 at SVH Kassel , which plays in the regional handball league . From November 2009 to the end of 2011 Alexander Koke was active at ThSV Eisenach ; his involvement with ThSV Eisenach ended with a settlement after legal disputes before the labor court in Eisenach . Since January 2012 he has been playing for TG Münden , which he also trains. In the 2012/13 season he was the best thrower in the East Season of the 3rd League with 233 goals.

National team

Alexander Koke was also a junior national player for the German national handball team. Koke was nominated for the youth national team, but has not played a game for Germany.

Trainer

At ThSV Eisenach he trained the male C youth, with whom he became Thuringian national champion. In Hann. Münden he was active as a player coach. Koke, who has an A license, has been an assistant trainer at TuS Ferndorf since 2014. In the 2016/17 season, Koke coached TSV Bayer Dormagen, where he was also active as a player. He then gave up his coaching position for professional reasons. Since 2018 he has been working as an assistant trainer for the German national junior team. In March 2020, Koke also took over the position of assistant coach for the German women's national team .

Alexander Koke took third place in the 2007 athlete poll of the Neuss-Grevenbroicher Zeitung .
