Alexander Labak

Alexander Labak (born September 18, 1962 in Vienna ) is an Austrian manager. From July 2017 to April 2019 he was General Director of Casinos Austria AG .

Life

Alexander Labak grew up in Tyrol . He studied commercial science at the Vienna University of Economics and Business , graduating in 1986 with a master's degree. In 1988 he received his doctorate in commercial science from the University of Economics. At the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania , he completed a Master of Business Administration training in 1990 .

Professionally, he worked for various companies in Europe, for example from 1999 to 2004 for Deutsche Bank , where he was a member of the supervisory board of DB Private & Business Customers AG, and from 2004 to 2006 for Mastercard as European President. On June 1, 2017, he joined the Management Board of Casinos Austria AG . On July 1, 2017, he succeeded Karl Stoss as General Director and became Chairman of the Board of Austrian Lotteries . Labak's contract initially runs until the end of 2019. After Leo Wallner (General Director from 1968 to 2007) and Karl Stoss (General Director from 2007 to 2017) he is the third General Director in the history of Casinos Austria.

In September 2018, he informed the Supervisory Board that he was not available to extend his contract, which expired at the end of 2019. On May 1, 2019, Bettina Glatz-Kremsner succeeded him as General Director of Casinos Austria, and Labak left the company.
