Alexander Marent (born February 21, 1969 in Alberschwende , Vorarlberg ) is a former Austrian cross-country skier .

Career

Marent made his debut on December 7, 1991 at the 10 km run in Silver Star BC in the cross-country skiing world cup . In the same winter he also took part in the Winter Olympics in Albertville , where he completed three individual races and the relay (with Alois Schwarz , Alois Stadlober and Andreas Ringhofer ).

On December 5, 1995, he celebrated his only victory in the Continental Cup in Brusson , having finished 2nd the day before. Although he achieved good results in the Continental Cup and was regularly among the top ten, he could not convince in the World Cup. His best result (6th place) he drove on November 27, 2001 with the relay in Kuopio . At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City (USA), he was also able to take fourth place in the relay (with Michail Botwinow , Gerhard Urain and Christian Hoffmann ) in the 4 × 10km run. On February 15, 2003, he competed in his last World Cup race.
