Alexander Martens (film producer)

Alexander Martens (born April 3, 1969 in Berlin ) is a German film producer .

life and career

Alexander Martens completed an apprenticeship as a film and television salesman. He then worked on more than 30 film and television productions as the first unit manager or production manager. Since 2007 he has been the second managing director of the production company Mafilm alongside Eva-Maria Martens .

He produced the films Krauses Fest (2007), The Moon and Other Lovers (2008), Krauses Bride (2011) and Up to the Horizon, Then Left! (2012).

In 2011 he acted as executive producer for David Wnendt's neo-Nazi milieu study Kriegerin . The film was awarded the bronze film prize for best feature film at the German Film Prize 2012 .

Martens is a member of the German Film Academy .
