Alexander Oelze (born November 28, 1983 in Magdeburg ) is a German handball player who has been active for SG Ratingen since 2019 .

Career

Alexander Oelze first played at SC Magdeburg , where he also had his first appearances in the handball Bundesliga . From 2006 he ran for the southern second division club Bergischer HC . Three years later, the 1.88 meter tall back player moved within the league to Leichlinger TV , which he left in December 2009 when he joined the first division club HBW Balingen-Weilstetten . From the 2010/11 season he will play again at Bergischer HC, with whom he was promoted to the first division in 2011 and 2013.

In February 2017, the contract with the BHC was terminated with immediate effect by mutual agreement. Oelze then joined the Neuss AGM . Since the 2017/18 season, the men's teams from Neuss and HSG Düsseldorf have been playing as HC Rhein Vikings. In February 2019 he moved from the 2nd handball Bundesliga to the Regional League North Rhine, to SG Ratingen 2011 . Oelze has been the captain of SG Ratingen since the 2019/2020 season.

Alexander Oelze studied sport and German language and literature and, in addition to his handball career, works as a teacher at a secondary school in Haan . He is in a relationship with handball player Ilka Held and has a son.
