Alexander Oetker
Alexander Oetker (born March 20, 1982 in East Berlin ) is a German journalist and author . For several years he was head of the France studio in Paris for Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland .
Life
Oetker was born in Berlin and grew up in the East Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg and in Wandlitz in Brandenburg . Oetker studied social and political sciences without finishing his studies. From 1998 to 2000 he wrote freelance for the Berliner Zeitung . From 2000 he worked in various functions for the television station RTL . From 2005 to 2007 he was the Berlin correspondent for RTL II-Nachrichten. From 2008 he headed the Western Europe studio of Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland and reported for RTL, n-tv and VOX from Paris . Since 2012 he has been working as a political correspondent for Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland in Berlin.
In the meantime, Oetker reported for other television stations, such as the MDR in Leipzig and the Bavarian television in Berlin .
Oetker wrote short stories from an early age. In 2017, Hoffmann und Campe published his first detective novel, set in the French region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine around the city of Bordeaux . Retour: Luc Verlain's first case immediately made it onto the Spiegel bestseller list . Oetker writes under his name and various pseudonyms.
He lives in Berlin with his wife and son.
