Alexander Wassiljewitsch Turilin

Alexander Wassiljewitsch Turilin ( Russian Александр Васильевич Турилин ; born May 30, 1961 in Novorossiysk ) is a Russian rear admiral .

Life

Turilin graduated from the Caspian Red Banner Officers College of the Naval Forces SM Kirov in Baku and then served in the Northern Fleet until 1986 as a combat section commander for navigation on the guided missile cruiser Marshal Ustinow and from 1987 to 1988 on the destroyer Ochayanny . From 1990 to 1993 he was first officer on the destroyer Otschajanny and took over its command from May 31, 1993 to March 5, 1994. After the death of a sailor by hanging in a holding cell on the ship, he was removed from his post and served as an officer on watch on the aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov from 1994 to 1998 . In 1998 he was first used as first officer and then until 1999 as commander of the nuclear missile cruiser Admiral Nakhimov . After graduating from the Naval War Academy , on September 28, 2000, he became the commander of the aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov . From 2003 to 2004 he was deputy commander and from 2004 to 2008 as commander of the 43rd Missile Ship Division of the Northern Fleet. From 2008 to 2010 he attended the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces in Moscow.

In September 2010, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation, he became the commander of the Novorossiysk naval base of the Black Sea Fleet .

On December 22, 2011, Turilin was released into retirement by President Medvedev .
