Rafael Alexander Zeyer (born March 20, 1993 in Saarlouis ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He was a member of the Saarland state parliament from April 2017 to October 2019 .

Life

After attending the primary school in Bliesen , Zeyer attended the comprehensive school Nohfelden-Türkismühle , where he graduated from high school in 2013. Since 2009, Zeyer had been state student representative for Saarland. Between 2014 and 2016, Zeyer completed an apprenticeship as a marketing communications specialist .

In 2007 Zeyer joined the Junge Union , from March 2015 to October 2019 he held the office of state chairman of the Junge Union Saar. Since May 2014 he has been a member of the St. Wendel City Council . On March 26, 2017, in the state elections in Saarland , he succeeded in entering the state parliament of Saarland as a member of the CDU state list , where he was the second youngest member of the legislative period after Dennis Lander .

In October 2019, Zeyer was appointed government spokesman for the Saarland, thereby resigning from his state parliament mandate. Ulrich Schnur moved up for him .

His grandfather Werner Zeyer was Minister- President of the Saarland from 1979 to 1985 , his uncle Christof Zeyer is the Saarland Parliamentary Director.
