Alexandra Lindsay Croak (born July 9, 1984 in Coffs Harbor ) is an Australian water diver and former gymnast . She participated in both gymnastics and diving in the Olympic Games . She starts diving for the Perfect 10 Diving Club in 10 m tower and synchronized diving .
Croak started gymnastics at the age of five. She took part in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney . Her best placement was a seventh place in the all-around competition with the team. At the 2001 World Gymnastics Championships in Gent , she was also seventh with the team. At the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester , she won gold with the team and silver on vault .
In 2004 she switched to diving. She trains at the Sydney Olympic Park , her trainer is Chava Sobrino. In 2008 she took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing in part. She finished 18th in the 10-meter high diving in the semifinals. In 2007 she took part in the World Cup for the first time , but could not qualify for a final. In 2009 she was seventh from the 10 m tower. Croak won her first diving medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne . She won silver with Melissa Wu in the 10 m synchronized jumping. In 2010 the duo won the gold medal. Croak also won her first individual medal, she won bronze from the 10-meter tower. In 2011 she also won her first World Championship medal in Shanghai . With Melissa Wu, she won silver in the 10-meter synchronized jumping, in high diving she reached seventh place.
Croak was the first Australian female athlete to win gold in various sports at the Commonwealth Games.
