Alexandra Gerlach

Alexandra Gerlach (* 1963 in Kassel ) is a German presenter , journalist and publicist .

Gerlach was born as the daughter of a professional soldier in the Bundeswehr . She lived in Israel from 1976 to 1979 . After graduating from high school in 1982, Gerlach studied political science, public law and art history at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and also American art history at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich . After completing her Magister Artium, she volunteered at Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich. In 1991 she became a domestic policy editor for radio and in 1992 parliamentary correspondent in Bonn. She then went to MDR television , where she became the presenter and editor of the news program MDR aktuell . In addition, she moderated a. a. the talk to the point . From 1996 to 2002 she was also the moderator of theme evenings at arte . From 2002 to 2011 she was the state correspondent in Saxony for Deutschlandfunk and Deutschlandradio Kultur . In 2010 she was editorially entrusted with the lecture series Forum Frauenkirche , which she also moderates. In 2011 she was awarded the Saxon Constitutional Medal. She has been working as a freelance journalist since 2011.

She is married to the winemaker Georg Prinz zur Lippe , whose name she took, and lives in Meißen-Proschwitz .
