Alexandra Höffgen (born October 29, 1993 in Dortmund ) is a German rower .

Athletic career

Höffgen originally began her career as a basketball player. She made it into the Bundesliga squad and took part in the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. She began rowing while convalescing after a cruciate ligament rupture in February 2011. In 2013 and 2014 she finished third at the U23 World Championships with the German eighth . In 2014 she won bronze at the European Championships in Belgrade with eighth place . At the 2014 World Championships she competed in a foursome without a helmsman and finished ninth. In 2015 Höffgen only rowed eighth, she finished fourth at the European Championships in Poznan and tenth place at the World Championships . In 2016 came fifth place at the European Championships and the qualifying regatta for the Olympic Games. In 2018 she finished sixth at the European Championships and twelfth place at the World Championships with the four-man without a helmsman . A year later, the foursome reached seventh place at the European Championships with a victory in the B final . At the World Championships , the team had to be content with 16th place. In addition, Höffgen replaced the sick batter Charlotte Wesselmann in the eighth final in the B final. Here, the eighth finished tenth in the end.

The 1.87 m tall Alexandra Höffgen starts for the Neuss rowing club . In 2016 and 2017 she was German champion in eighth with a racing community. In 2018 and 2019, Sophie Oksche and Alexandra Höffgen were German champions in two without a helmsman .
