Alexandre Agopoff

Alexandre Agopoff (* 1918 in Istanbul ; † 2010 ) was a French table tennis player . He took part in seven world championships in the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s , winning two bronze medals.

Career

Alexandre Agopoff was the son of American parents. His father was killed in the First World War . In 1926 the family moved to France.

Agopoff won a total of eleven titles at French national championships , 1945 singles, 1939, 1939, 1945 and 1947 doubles and 1939, 1946, 1949-1951 and 1957 mixed. From 1938 to 1955 he was nominated for seven world championships. He reached the semi-finals with the French team in 1947 and 1950 , and in 1938 and 1949 the team came in fifth.

In 1948 Alexandre Agopoff wrote the book Ping-pong mes amours! 25 croquis de Michel Lanskoy ... .

He was married and lived in Paris.
