Alexandre Voisard (born September 14, 1930 in Pruntrut ) is a French-speaking Swiss writer .

Life

Alexandre Voisard, son of a teacher, attended drama school in Geneva , played in the Troupe des Malvoisins theater troupe and later opened his bookshop on the Jura in Pruntrut . A pioneer of the separatists in the Jura question remains active, he was appointed Delegate for Cultural Affairs of the newly founded in 1979 Canton Jura appointed. In 1982 he became a board member of the Pro Helvetia cultural foundation .

His work consists mainly of poetry and short stories ; since 2006 a complete edition of his works has been published (currently eight volumes). His short story L'année des treize lunes appeared in 1985 as the first of his works in German translation and was filmed in 1991 by Bertrand Theubet as Le cri du lézard . In addition, he translated Max Frisch's service booklet into French (as Livret de service ).

Voisard was a member of the Olten group ; after its dissolution, he joined the writers' association of authors in Switzerland . He has lived across the Swiss border in Courtelevant with his French wife since 1992 .
