Alexandru Moghioroș

Alexandru Moghioroș (birth name: Sándor Mogyorós ; * October 23, 1911 in Salonta Mare , Bihor district ; † October 1, 1969 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian politician of the Romanian Communist Party PMR (Partidul Muncitoresc Român) and from 1965 PCR (Partidul Comunist Român ) , who was a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee between 1948 and 1965 (Central Committee) of the PMR, from 1950 to 1954 a member of the organization office and secretary of the Central Committee of the PMR and most recently from 1965 to 1968 a member of the Executive Committee and secretary of the Central Committee of the PCR.

Life

Born as Sándor Mogyorós, Moghioroș belonged to the Magyar minority in Romania and attended four-year elementary school and three-year middle school. In 1929 he joined the then Communist Party PCR (Partidul Comunist din România) as a member and in 1933 became a member and secretary of the Central Committee of the Union of Young Communists UTCdR (Uniunea Tineretului Comunist din România) . In 1936, in a trial against Ana Pauker in Craiova , he was sentenced to 9 years and 11 months' imprisonment, a fine of 95,000 lei and a 10-year ban on political activity based on regulation No. 104/7, which was dated July 1936 War Council of the 1st Army Corps was issued. He was accused of having committed crimes against the public peace in Văcăreşti, Jilava , Caransebeş and Târgu Ocna . After the coup d'état on August 23, 1944 , he was released from custody and was then a representative of the PCR in Hunedoara County and then in 1945 in Mureș County .

At the National Conference (Conferința Națională) , which took place from October 16 to 22, 1945, Moghioroș became a member of the Central Committee of the PCR and was a member of this party committee also with the successor parties PMR and PCR until December 1968.

Moghioroş became a member of the Politburo of the PMR Central Committee at the Sixth Party Congress of the PMR from February 21 to 23, 1948 and was a member of this body for the successor parties PMR and PCR until July 21, 1965. In 1948 he became a member of the Grand National Assembly (Marea Adunare Națională) for the first time and represented the constituency of Bihor until 1952 , then the constituency of Târgu Secuiesc between 1952 and 1957 , the constituency of Timișoara Nord-Vest from 1957 to 1961 , and between 1961 and 1965 Constituency of Târgu Mureș Nord and, most recently, from 1965 and his death in 1969, the constituency of Regiunea Mureș . During his membership in parliament he was from April 13, 1948 to April 21, 1954 a member of the Presidium of the Grand National Assembly.

On January 24, 1950, Moghioroș became a member of the organization office of the Central Committee as well as the Central Committee Secretary and exercised both functions up to the plenum of the Central Committee of the PMR on April 20, 1954 . In addition, he served between February 18, 1950 and February 12, 1951 as President of the State Committee for Agricultural Production Cooperatives.

He was also between April 21 and August 20, 1954 for the first time Vice-President of the Council of Ministers and then from August 20, 1954 to October 3, 1955 first Vice-President of the Council of Ministers, before his last position between March 19, 1957 and July 27 1965 again Vice-President of the Council of Ministers.

At the ninth party conference of the PCR from July 19 to 24, 1965 , he became a member of the Executive Committee of the Central Committee and the Secretary of the Central Committee of the PCR, and held both functions until December 1968.
