The Alfatar Peninsula ( Bulgarian полуостров Алфатар poluostrow Alfatar ) is a 4 km long and 2.8 km wide peninsula with a northeast-southwest orientation at the northwest end of Robert Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It separates Mitchell Cove from Coppermine Cove , Carlota Cove and Clothier Harbor . To the west it runs out in the form of the 1.7 km long and 0.5 km wide Coppermine Peninsula .
Bulgarian scientists mapped it in 2008. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it that same year after the city of Alfatar in northeastern Bulgaria .
