Alfonso Valerio

Alfonso Valerio (born July 18, 1852 in Trieste , Austrian Empire , † December 28, 1942 in Opicina ) was an Italian lawyer and politician.

The trained lawyer Alfonso (rarely also Alfons ) Valerio became a member of the Trieste City Council in 1897 and was Mayor of Trieste from 1909 to 1915. In 1915, as a result of the First World War, the city administration was dissolved and Valerio worked as a lawyer until the end of the war in October 1918. From 1919 Valerio was a member of the Italian Senate in what was then the Kingdom of Italy .
