Swell:

The Aalborg – Hadsund railway was a standard-gauge railway in Denmark in North Jutland . The line built in 1900 was called the Hadsundbanen .

Aalborg – Hadsund Jernbane

The line was operated by the private Danish railway company Aalborg – Hadsund Jernbane (AHJ).

The private railway ran from Aalborg through the eastern Himmerland to Hadsund . The line was closed on April 1, 1969 together with Randersbanen, Hvalpsundbanen and Fjerritslevbanen. In Hadsund, the trains reached the center of operations on the Hadsund Nord line. From there, the Hadsund port railway was put into operation in 1928 .

The terminus of the Randers – Hadsund railway line was Hadsund Syd on the other side of the Mariagerfjord . When the predecessor of today's Hadsundbroen was opened in the form of a swing bridge in 1904 , trains continued from Aalborg to Hadsund Syd. In the 1946/47 season, the maximum number of 418,000 passengers was counted.

Aalborg Østhavnen port railway

The approximately 16-kilometer-long freight railway to the Osthafen ( Østhavnen in Danish ) belongs to the Aalborg Havn company and runs a few kilometers on the old route. Immediately in front of the port, two circulation tracks were laid for shunting operations with a length of around 430 meters and 600 meters. The port railway was fundamentally renewed and expanded in 2015.
