Alfonso de Iruarrizaga (born August 22, 1957 in Santiago de Chile ) is a former Chilean sports shooter .
successes
Alfonso de Iruarrizaga started shooting sports at the age of 17. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Chilean Air Force shooting club . He participated in three Olympic Games in skeet . At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , he finished 26th. In 1988 he qualified in Seoul with 198 points for the final, in which he scored another 23 goals. With a total of 221 points, he remained one point behind Olympic champion Axel Wegner and one point ahead of Jorge Guardiola , so that he received the silver medal. He finished the 1992 Games in 42nd place. With the team he won silver in 1979 in San Juan and in 1983 in Caracas bronze at the Pan American Games .
His wife Consuelo Sáez Ramila was eleven times national champion in rhythmic gymnastics. The couple have a daughter and a son. Iruarrizaga studied at the Universidad de Chile and graduated as a civil engineer .
