Alfred Cohrs

Alfred Cohrs (born December 18, 1911 in Wentorf , Gifhorn district, † May 15, 1974 in Einbeck ) was a German farmer and politician ( FDP ).

After attending primary school in Wentorf, Cohrs worked in his parents' farm for four years. He then attended the agricultural school in Hildesheim . In 1933 he became an agricultural administrator and joined the German army between 1935 and 1936 . On May 1, 1937, he became a member of the NSDAP ( membership number 4,059,372; in his denazification process , Cohrs later stated that from July 1937 to August 1939 he was merely a candidate for the party). In 1937 he married into a company in Volksen and became a self-employed farmer in the Einbeck district.

Cohrs took part in World War II between 1939 and the end of the war. After the end of the war he became mayor in 1948 and later municipal director in Volksen . Cohrs was chairman of the district association of the FDP and chairman of the agricultural committee of the FDP regional association in Lower Saxony.

Cohrs became vice chairman of the county people. He was also appointed chairman of the supervisory board of the cooperative bank in Einbeck and chairman of the management board of Central-Molkerei in Einbeck. In 1952 he became a member of the district assembly of Einbeck . Since 1958 he was district administrator of the district of Einbeck .

He was first in the 3rd electoral term from November 6, 1957 to May 5, 1959 and again in the 5th and 6th electoral periods from June 26, 1963 to June 20, 1970 member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . Cohrs was deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group between June 26, 1967 and July 1, 1968 and from June 26, 1969 to June 20, 1970. As chairman of the committee for food and agriculture, he was for the period between June 26 Elected 1963 to June 18, 1965.
