Alfred Gräfe (soccer player)

Alfred Graefe ( April 24, 1926 - April 20, 1982 ) was a German football player . He completed a total of 50 games in the GDR league for the BSG Stahl Altenburg and the BSG Wismut Aue .

Career

After the Second World War he joined the ZSG Altenburg and was part of the squad for the GDR league season 1949/50 . He was only used in the playoff for relegation to the GDR league . This game was necessary because ZSG Altenburg had as many points as the penultimate ZSG Anker Wismar . He was used by trainer Herbert Klemig for the entire 90th minutes and provided the ZSG Altenburg with the goal to make it 3-2 for the decision in the Ernst-Grube-Stadion in Magdeburg .

On September 9, 1950, he played his first game in the GDR league for the club now taking the name BSG Stahl Altenburg . In the 4-1 win against SG Lichtenberg 47 , he was used over the entire season and scored the interim 2-0 in the 27th minute. After he came to only three missions up to the winter break in the 1951/52 season , he moved to the newly promoted BSG Wismut Aue during the winter break .

On January 20, 1952, he made his debut for the Auer team. In the 1: 4 defeat against BSG activist Brieske-Ost he was used by coach Walter Fritzsch for the entire 90 minutes and scored the consolation goal from Wismut Aue in the 35th. He scored his last of five goals in the Auer dress on the last day of the 1951/52 season. In the 2-0 win against BSG Motor Gera on April 30, 1952, he achieved the interim 1-0 lead in the 10th minute.

In the 1952/53 season she finished second at the end of the season, tied behind SG Dynamo Dresden . Because of the equality of points, a decision game had to decide the championship title. In the decider of the GDR football league in 1952/53 he and his team lost 3-2 against Dresden. After the 1953/54 season he left the BSG Wismut Aue.
