Alfred Kendziora

Alfred Kendziora (born February 12, 1925 , † August 27, 2011 ) was a German officer , most recently in the rank of brigadier general in the Bundeswehr .

Life

During the Second World War, Kendziora was deployed as a tank commander in the 2nd SS Panzer Division "Das Reich" , from which he retired as Untersturmführer at the end of the war . After the Second World War, he began studying mining, joined the armored forces of the German Armed Forces in 1960, where he was, among other things, deputy commander of Panzer Brigade 8 and commander of Homeland Security Command 15 and later of Homeland Security Brigade 53 , and battalion commander of Panzer Grenadier Battalion 43 in Göttingen in the early 1970s .

In 1982 he was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .
