Alfred Krafft-Lortzing

Alfred Krafft-Lortzing (born April 10, 1893 in Breslau ; † May 14, 1974 in Braunschweig ) was a German tenor, actor and artistic director.

Life

Krafft-Lortzing was born in Breslau as the son of the conductor Karl Krafft-Lortzing . He is a great-grandson of the composer Albert Lortzing . Krafft-Lortzing began his acting career in 1913 at the Steyr City Theater . He then played in Augsburg, Berlin, Dortmund, Karlsruhe, Cologne, Munich and in the Braunschweig State Theater. He played minor roles in three silent films.
